Overview of promotion system
In Hungary, renewable-energy-sourced electricity is mainly promoted through a price regulation in terms of a feed-in tariff. Furthermore, companies and public bodies are eligible for the EEOP 2007-2013 subsidy programme, while private individuals are eligible for the NEP-2008 subsidy programme.

Overview of access to the grid
The Act on Electric Energy (Act No. LXXXVI of 2007) gives priority in grid connection and usage to electricity generated from renewable energy. Furthermore, it establishes certain restrictions on electricity imports to the benefit of renewable energy. Grid operators shall bear the costs of connection of systems that generate electricity from renewable energy and of the expansion of the grid carried out for their benefit.
